Date: TBD
Join us for a unique evening of film and food with a director screening of the classic critically acclaimed film, Jiro Dreams of Sushi; Q&A with director David Gelb; and izakaya and omakase experiences with local sushi, sake, and whiskey experts. VIP experiences will also be available!
Guest chefs feature CIA alumni and chefs, including Keita Tominaga (executive chef at Hana and Pabu), Peggy Tan (chef de cuisine at Gozu), Brandon Kida (executive chef at Hinoki & the Bird), and Annie Hongkham (CIA chef). These chefs will guide you through the flavors of Japan with sushi and izakaya fare. Chefs will also be joined by Sake Samurai Toshio Ueno and whiskey experts.
The evening begins with a screening of Jiro Dreams of Sushi, a documentary following Jiro Ono, 85-year-old sushi master and owner of Sukiyabashi Jiro—a Michelin three-star, 10-seat, sushi-only restaurant located in a Tokyo subway station. Director David Gelb, most recently in the spotlight for Netflix’s Chef’s Table, will host a Q&A session after the screening. Then, you’ll enjoy a walk-around tasting reception guided by our guest chefs and experts.
