The Culinary Institute of America in partnership with the Lexicon of Sustainability has created a weekend of events around the issue of food waste. We are featuring special guest speakers with brought-to-life stories, exhibits, and informational activities that highlight solutions to the problem of food waste.

ReGrained fights food waste at the tap by upcycling “spent” grain harvested from craft beer into healthy, delicious, and sustainable food.


WASTED! Film Screening, Panel Discussion, and Reception

Join us for a food and wine reception, film screening of WASTED!, and intriguing discussion with some of the foremost thought-leaders in food waste. The discussion will focus on real world solutions to fixing food waste problems and what you can do now to start eliminating food waste in your own home.
Our panel discussion will feature Chef Steven Satterfield as feature presenter and moderator. Panelists include:

“Just Eat It” Film Screening

Close out our Food Waste Weekend with a complimentary screening of the film Just Eat It. We all love food. As a society, we devour countless cooking shows, culinary magazines and foodie blogs. So how could we possibly be throwing nearly 50% of it in the trash? Filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the issue of waste from farm, through retail, all the way to the back of their own fridge.
